COOZ Elite is a premier AAU boys’ basketball program, and non-profit organization, that offers athletes aged 15U–17U the chance to compete on the prestigious PUMA/PRO16 circuit. Our team provides unparalleled training opportunities led by experienced and accomplished coaches and trainers. Each of our teams competes in some of the country’s top basketball tournaments. Constantly pushing our players to elevate their game and reach new heights.

At COOZ Elite, we not only focus on athletic development but also emphasize valuable life skills and personal development. We aim to develop self-discipline, build self-esteem, promote teamwork, and cultivate leadership and sportsmanship. Our program offers players increased visibility in front of college scouts while honing their advanced basketball skills in a supportive, competitive environment.

Elite Players

  • Always play by the rules.
  • Never argue with an official. If you disagree with a call, let your coach handle it with professionalism and respect.
  • Control your temper at all times. Verbal abuse of officials, opponents, or teammates is never acceptable. Avoid deliberately distracting or provoking others.
  • Work hard for yourself and your team.
  • Be a good sport. Treat everyone on your team the way you want to be treated.
  • Cooperate with your coach, teammates, and opponents.
  • Participate for your own enjoyment and growth, not just to please your parents or coaches.
  • Respect the rights of all participants, regardless of gender, ability, cultural background, or religion.
  • Athletes are expected to maintain a passing average. Failure to do so may result in expulsion.

Elite Parents

  • Remember, kids participate in sports for their enjoyment, not yours. Encourage them to play, but never force them.
  • Focus on the effort and improvement, not just on winning or losing.
  • Always encourage your child to follow the rules and the code of conduct.
  • Never criticize your child for making mistakes or losing a competition.
  • Kids learn best by watching great role models—be one.
  • Support the removal of verbal and physical abuse in the game.
  • Respect officials’ decisions, and teach your child to do the same.
  • Show appreciation for volunteer coaches, officials, and administrators.
  • Respect the rights of all participants, regardless of ability, cultural background, or religion.
  • Concerns about personnel substitutions or strategies should be addressed with Cooz Elite Administration (Coach PJ and Coach Clay). Avoid discussing these matters with coaches directly.
  • Club fees are due by the 1st of the month. Athletes will be held out of activities after the 15th if payment has not been made.

Elite Coaches

  • Always remember that kids play for fun and enjoyment—winning is just part of the experience.
  • Never ridicule or yell at children for mistakes or not winning.
  • Be reasonable with your expectations regarding the time, energy, and enthusiasm of your players. Youth sports are just one part of their busy lives.
  • Operate within the code of conduct, rules, and fair play. Instruct your players to do the same.
  • Ensure that every player has a positive experience. Every child deserves equal attention and opportunities.
  • Avoid overplaying the more talented or skilled players.
  • Ensure all equipment and facilities meet safety standards and are appropriate for the age and ability of the players.
  • Model control, respect, and professionalism for everyone involved—opponents, coaches, officials, administrators, parents, and spectators. Encourage players to do the same.
  • Always show concern for sick or injured players. Follow the advice of medical professionals regarding when they are ready to return to training and competition.
  • Continuously update your qualifications and stay informed on the latest coaching practices and principles for child development.
  • Any physical contact with players should be appropriate for skill development or medical care.
